Argudell de Fontclara Extra Virgin Olive Oil is positioned as the second best oil in Catalonia in the 7th edition of the ESAO awards.
The winning oil from Fontclara, of the Argudell variety, was selected among an outstanding group of producers and packers of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) as the second best in Catalonia. The award, granted by the prestigious Escuela Superior del Aceite de Oliva, is recognition of the work of Fontclara, which produces organic olive oils that combine the flavors, aromas and, ultimately, the essence of the territory in which it is produced: the Empordà .
The ESAO Awards are organized annually, and from them the ESAO Guide is drawn up, which includes the best oil paintings worldwide. Thus, in its next edition, the Argudell de Fontclara extra virgin olive oil will become part of the Olympus of the best EVOOs in the world, the result of the meticulous work and care of a team that produces its oils in an artisanal and traditional way.
But this is not the only award that EVOO Argudell de Fontclara has received throughout its history. It also has the silver medal in the EVOO International Olive Oil Contest and in the Berlin Global Olive Oil. In addition, it obtained the highest distinction in the London Olive Oil Competition and in the Dubai Olive Oil Competition 2022.
This autochthonous monovarietal from Empordà is made in a traditional and ecological way. After a meticulous process of manual selection of the olives picked green, this tasty and velvety oil is produced, persistent, intense and rich in nuances. It is a harmonious oil with intense notes, which combines both hot and cold with sweet vegetables, red meat, oily fish, and even stews and fried foods.
In addition to focusing on the quality of its oils, Fontclara also stands out for its commitment to sustainability and innovation in all production processes, both for its Argudell EVOO and its Arbequina and Picual varieties .
The long list of distinctions that Fontclara has, to which is added the last silver at the ESAO Awards, are a significant recognition for the company, led by the Swiss businessman Roland Zanotelli. This reaffirms the excellence of its EVOOs and consolidates its position both nationally and internationally.
